How to Play
the
Starburst Super Game
The Melange Starburst Super Game is played on
"Rainbow Paper" and offers players multiple ways to win
prizes. The basic game is a 4-on "Small Letter X" bingo game.
Each of the four bingo-card-faces is a different color (yellow, red,
green and blue), hence the name "Rainbow Paper." Each
card face offers a different prize level that is set and controlled by
the bingo manager. Only numbers in the letter X pattern are printed on
the sheet. There is no free space in the N column. Therefore, nine
numbers appear on each card face. One of the numbers on each face
is circled by a starburst pattern. The starbursts have two
functions. If a player covers all four starbursts in Y calls or
less, then they immediately win the progressive jackpot prize. In the
above example, Y is a parameter that is initially set by the bingo
manager based on the odds of a player winning, and may be changed at any
time. The first player to catch all four starbursts wins a small
consolation prize determined by the bingo manager. Additionally, if a
player bingos on the letter X pattern and the last number called is a
starburst number, then they win double the prize of their colored
pattern, or some other consolation prize to be determined by the bingo
manager. If two or more players bingo on the same call, then their
colored pattern prize is divided by the total number of winners in the
game. For example, if a player bingos on the yellow card, and another
player bingos on the blue card, then each player receives one-half of
their designated prize.
This is a low-cost game that gives players multiple
ways to win prizes. It is popular in halls with attendance levels from
250-600 players per session. The hold for the hall on this game is
typically 30%-50%.
